CHEST PAIN EMERGENCY CENTER|
The Chest Pain Emergency Center was established in 1991 to quickly treat people who experience the sudden onset of cardiac distress. Located within the emergency-trauma unit at
Westmoreland Regional Hospital, the Chest Pain Emergency Center is staffed with physicians and
nurses who are specially trained in the techniques of emergency medicine.
The condition of any patient who is suffering from chest pain is quickly assessed by our experienced personnel. Appropriate intervention begins as quickly as possible in order to
minimize potential damage to heart muscle. When necessary, thrombolytic therapies are
administered to also reduce the severity of cardiac damage.
Since its inception, the Chest Pain Emergency Center has treated over 9,000 patients.
